[comp.sys.apple] Compatibility

Okay, well my SCSI card finally arrived, so I initialized my hard disk
last night, and got up and running. Some thoughts. It's easy. Manuals
aren't necessary for any part of the system. My next hard drive
recommendation may be to build one with a Seagate 277N (what CMS
uses). The Apple card works fine with the CMS drive, and I was
able to use the nifty Advanced Disk Utility. Some points. I need to
get an update to ProSel since GS/OS has just enough differences that
I don't want to mess with the structures with non-GS/OS software.

More important. Jason Harper's SHRConvert 2.1 doesn't work. This is
a real downer. Is there an update available on one of the commercial
networks? If so, the one on APPLE2-L could be replaced.

Nice points: I got the new PC Transporter software and it works nicely
with GS/OS. Please note that I have a very usable system with no MS-DOS
5.25 drive and only 1 3.5 drive. You only get a 16 Meg MS-DOS hard drive.
That's just a limit of ProDOS. No fix seems likely at any time soon.
