about making your own SCSI hard drive/interface for the Apple. I read where Chinook is using an ST138N (Seagate Hard Drive) for their 30 Megabyte drive. I thought that perhaps I could try and make my own interface for the ST138N, using a standard Apple SCSI interface, such as Apple's own, or maybe a CMS Controller Card. Another thing I have to consider is how to "hard" format the drive. Does anyone have any info. on how to go about interfacing this Segate drive to my Apple //e (cheaply)?? Another thing to consider is Applied Ingenuity's new Inner Drive. IT fits inside a //e or //gs and costs a lot less than a Chinook. I think it is something like $650 for their 50 Meg. unit. $750 for a 30 Meg. drive isn't too bad, but I think I can do a lot better than that (than Chinook is doing anyhow) if I make my own. Also, what software would format the drive after it was hard formatted? Thanks in advance, Dan Church io.nmt.edu!dansnsr
