I am having problems with a Mac plus and 20 Mb SCSI drive. Randomly, the system will restart, sometimes repeating, sometimes freezing, and sometimes with garbage on the screen. I don't think it is a heat problem, the cure is a <10 sec. power down. There are many other systems in the same room so I do not suspect input power. I am suspecting the power supply in the main unit, and I would appreciate feedback from anyone who has experienced similar problems with a Mac Plus. I've been working with Macs for four years, first at an Apple dealer, currently as a Mac-Consultant. Everytime I've seen the problems you've described, they could, in some way, be traced to the power supply. Do you have any special cards or adapters attached (ie Big screen monitor, speed-up card, etc.)? Very often these 'daughter' boards draw more power than the Mac power supply likes to put out. -Shabtai Klein ____________________________________________________________________ | There is more to life than | UUCP: uunet!pyramid!cdp!sklein \ | increasing its speed. | Internet: cdp!sklein@arisia.xerox.com | | | BitNet: cdp!sklein%labrea@stanford | | --Mohandis K Gandhi | PhoneNet: (301) 270-2250 | \___________________________________________________________________/
