A while back, I recall some folks holding "RobotWars" tournaments. I believe that was Frank Anthes-Harper out in France somewhere. If they're still going on, I'd really like to hear from you folks. While on the subject of "RobotWars", I was wondering if anyone was interested in working on an "netmail" robotwars type game, where people would mail in there robots, at some time or another (I'm running a ProLine system on my //e), a game would be held (or a series), and the results would be mailed out. I'd really like to get something going, maybe in the play-by-email type scenario. ---- A problem: I've got an enhanced //e, 512K RamWorks II, etc. etc. I've had the _worst_ luck getting BLU v2.27 running (the same problem happens with 2.28 as well). Whenever I select files to "Make a Binary II file", it gives some nasty ProDOS error. Also, whenever I try to delete multiple files, it wigs out and gives tons of garbage all over the screen. Has anyone else had this problem? And where can I get a new version of it? ---- If anyone's had problems running E.O.S. by Electronic Arts on their ][ plus, it's because Karl Buiter (author) used some //e specific instructions on part of his loader for the advanced stages of the game. I've written a patch program that's a small, compact basic program that makes patches to the MISSION disk. It works great, and it's readily available either through me, E.A., or CompuServe. ____________________________________________________________________________ | ARPA: crash!pro-dark!sloan@nosc.mil | _____________________ | | INET: sloan@pro-dark.cts.com | (___ | |___ | / |___ | | AT&T: (pro-dark) 415/676-5248 (2400) | ________) | |___ |/ |________ | |______________________________________|_____________________________________| | Steve Smythe, 727 San Simeon Ct, Concord CA 94518-2316, 415/676-4397 | | "Give to the mentally ill, or I'll kill you" [Street Corner Guy, 1988] | |____________________________________________________________________________|
