I've written a lengthy archive proposal that I think a few of you would be interested in reading. The document is too large to post to the net (about 45 K of text), so I'd be willing to mail it to anyone who requests a copy. We're trying to get a conference going on AppleLink PE to discuss the possibility of having an intra-machine archive format that would be equally valid for the macintosh as well as apple II machines (I have a IIgs). If you're interested in participating in such a conference and hav an AppleLink PE account, send mail to: AFL LesKay telling him you'd like to be included. The archive proposal is called "NuARC" (for New ARChive standard for the Apple II (and hopefully mac)) and is currently 26 pages long, formatted with nroff on my college's unix system so it's easy to print. If would be easiest if anyone interested would send mail to me at college, the first InterNET address in my signature should work fine for most people.
