[comp.sys.apple] Unidisk block editor

Diskworks by Jerry Hewitt works nicely. Thanks for all of the replys. I too
am amazed that Copy//+ doesn't provide a "partial" list of utilities for the
Unidisk. I wonder how copy protection is handled when written for a "smart
device" like the Unidisk. As to Copy//+ not accessing the extra memory, there
is a fairly simple way around that.
I never boot the Copy//+ disk. I've copied the COPY.SYSTEM file
onto every work disk that I have. I can access it from
DAVEX or straight from prodos. Since my boot disks configure the memory card
in my //C Copy//+ uses it. It will copy 5 1/4 or even 3.5 disks in one pass.
I have one disk which automatically configures my 1 meg of ram and then loads
Appleworks with several Timeworks add ons, COPY.SYSTEM, all of ORCA/M and
a few other files. I can copy files into /ram then edit them with Appleworks.
Then I print the files to /ram and compile them with ORCA/M. This gives me
all of Appleworks with Ultramacros for creating code. Between having everything
in /ram and using a zipchip, all of these applications could be the same
program if judged by access time. Zipchip access the /ram dissk at 4 meg
making for a very nice work machine. DAVEX can configure my /ram drive and
move everything to /ram in less than 3 minutes. That's the last time that I
use a disk drive until backup time.
Sorry, but I've never used Central Points add on card. I hope this wasn't a
moot point.
