I bought a copy of Proterm last year, and I hardly ever used it.
Most of my work involves communicating with mainframes, and I find
Kermit383 best suited to my purposes. If you'd like to try Proterm,
I'll sell you my copy for $45 or best offer. It's version 1.2, and
it comes with manual, registration card, and backup copies. I'll pay
shipping. Send me e-mail if you're interested.

It's a night and day difference between version 1.2 and Version 2.0 which is
what I have and use all the time. The praises everyone is giving is to
version 2.0 not 1.2. version 2.0 have Kermit as well as xmodem and ymodem.
For a few bucks more, I'm sure you can get an upgrade to the 2.0 version or
even the current one which is 2.1 I think. Not too much difference between
2.0 and 2.1 I understand. Version 1.2 was a plain vanilla program and not
that much of a program to write home about.

I have heard news tha Checkmate will give you an upgrade if you send them
your ORIGINAL disk and $23, but I'd call them and check to be sure...in
fact...I think I'll call and ask if 2.1 is shipping yet.

I sell it for a VERY good price, leave mail to me if you are interested.
You'll be hard pressed to find a better price (these are legal)
