> There is a controller put out by a company called Perlin Electronics, I > believe called the Megaboard. It can control up to a 64MB ST506 hard disk. ***WARNING*** I strongly reccommend against ordering the Megaboard from Perlin Electronics. While it does what it claims (although the software is really only in its "beta" stages not to mention the fact that it is slot specific and machine specific) the company is very bad. From both personal experience and those of friends who have ordered the Megaboard, the company is very unreliable. In the past, they took 3 months to fill a pre-paid order. A friend of mine received a defective one and it took 6 months and 4 rather threatening trips to visit the 2 man operation personally to resolve the situation (which unless you live in California won't happen!). I wouldn't be surprised if the guy was out of business now. When my friend visited, they had taken hundreds to thousands of orders (and accepted money) and had not filled the orders. ---Happy New Year to all (except Perlin Electronics :) ) ____________________________________________________________________________ US MAIL : CPU #1026 25 Andrews Memorial Dr. Rochester, NY 14623 | BITNET : DMG4449@RITVAX | AppleLink : DanielGr | INTERNET : dmg4449%ritvax.bitnet@CORNELLC.CCS.CORNELL.EDU | UUCP : {psuvax1,mcvax}!ritvax.bitnet!dmg4449 | Compuserve : 71641,1311 | GEnie : D.GREENBERG2 | PHONE : [716] 475-4295|
