I got the Appleworks -> Appleworks GS upgrade for Christmas, and have used it long enough to have a few questions. Is anyone from Claris (or an experienced AWGS user) available for a few answers? 1. Is there any way to use my old Okidata to print spreadsheets or word processing documents that contain only ASCII text? Basically, all I want to do is dump ASCII to the printer serial port. 2. When I use the paint program, is there anyway to control the total size of the picture? Sometimes I can move the horizontal or vertical slide bar for several screens worth of area; other times it seems that one screen pretty much fills up the area. 3. Are the formats of picture files documented? I would like to write a Pascal program that displays pictures from the paint program. I'm sure I'll have more questions as I use the programs! -- Dave Tribby - - - - - ARPA: tribby%hpda@hplabs.HP.COM UUCP: hplabs!hpda!tribby

You can try sending ascii text files to the serial port from the communications module in direct connect mode. I haven't actually ever done this. > 2. That size is controlled by the choice of printers & the various options (condensed, landscape, etc) chosen. > 3. Are the formats of picture files documented?
