No "flames" were intended and I hope, none taken.. just my own opinion.

Well Steve, I will tell you what. The only reason PCP became so popular was
the price, they have TERRIBLE service! They have been promising 2400 for over
a year, many of their modems are out of service at any one time. You get
randomly disconnected for no reason. Your effective baud rate is somewhere
between 33% to 66% depending on the protocol you use. The Nodes are
frequently very busy and near impossible to get into. They will be charge you
whether or not you Ever connect to a BBS, if you try to get into a really
active board by dialing through the busies for 1/2 hour you get charged for
that! NO other Long Distance service charges you for busies. No other long
distance services has as much noise sometimes and as many annoying problems.
No other service wont' let you connect to every city you want. NO other
service won't allow anything but data connections.

You asked if I could find a better alternative? Yea, AT&T reach out america
plan with an HST 9600. For all you get if it is unlimited calling, it is
great, for all you DON'T get for hourly charge it isn't worth it at all!
Also, how many long distance carriers charge more the more you call? All the
other it is cheaper as usage increases, while with the new rates, it goes
from a buch an hour, to 4.50 an hour after only 30 hours (A mere hour a night,
I do that much while I am sleeping most nights!) and then it jumps to 7.50 an
hour after 60. Like for some reason the service is better after 30 and 60
hours of use I guess!

And yes, a flame is intended, but not at you, at Telenet and PC Screw You
(A.K.A. Pursuit)

Flame most definately not off yet!
