Steve, You mentioned that it would be ingracious of you to complain to PCP, but YOU as a fellow proline sysadm should realize the the rate increase also states that ANYTHING over 30 hours a month in usage will be 4 somthing a hour for connect charges, and anything over 60 hours a month will be 7 something an hour for connect charges (I apologize for not remembering the exact cents figures). This will literally put a halt to YOUR access to the proline network if you are using PCP to get your messages, my friend. About the only thing that you will be able to still receive is the "proline-local" feed, since even info-apple can easily run you more than an hour a night of connect charges. The folks at PCP have deemed me, living in Hawaii, as unworthy of getting an account on their service because of my location. But, when THEY begged everyone to join the letter writing campaign to stop feds from upping their rates I did my part, and cohearsed others into doing their parts and writing to our congressmen and the FCC to stop the bill action. Yet, when PCP gets this huge government account they don't remember the little guys around the nation which supported them in their time of need. The loss of PCP service at a reasonable rate is literally going to give re-birth to the phreaking problems in America. I don;t know about you, but I do not need to be receiving any $30,000 phone bills -- I don;t need the headaches! I'm sure that NO ONE could balk at the raise in rates to $30/month. The problem is the hourly rate increase beyond the 30 hour point! With hundereds of people trying to use the modems, you can imagine HOW LONG you will be online just trying to get an outdial, being charged the whole time, and not even getting any use during the charge! Makes one wonder if France has bought out the company and is trying to stab us in the back again. ;-| Todd South [Pro-Pac SysAdm] -- UUCP: {nosc, cacilj, sdcsvax, hplabs!hp-sdd, sun.COM} ...!crash!pnet01!pro-nsfmat!pro-pac!tsouth ARPA: crash!pnet01!pro-nsfmat!pro-pac!tsouth@nosc.MIL INET: tsouth@pro-pac.CTS.COM - BITNET: pro-pac.UUCP!tsouth@PSUVAX1
