[space - the final frontier] Speaking of backround (and foreground) references to other movies in Gremlins here are some that I noticed: (1) When the Gremlins were in the bar one was playing a video game this game was (I think) STAR WARS. (2) Obviously there was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in the theatre. (3) We also got to see an E.T. doll ( I don`t think it was in heat :-)), it was one of the toys Stripe hid behind in the department store. (4) There was a poster for The Road Warrior hanging in Billy's room. (5) In the opening scene (or at least a scene near the beginning of the movie) there was a poster advertising some D.J. (ricky?), anyway its lettering was the same style as for the posters of Raiders and Indiana Jones. (6) Finally, when the Gremlins were breakdancing in the bar I think that the music they were dancing to was from Flashdance. I believe the music was Imagination which was originally sung by Laura Branigan. Did anybody else out there notice this or am I wrong? Don't expose them to bright light. G.J.

> (3) We also got to see an E.T. doll ( I don`t think it was in heat :-)), > it was one of the toys Stripe hid behind in the department store. The joke is much deeper than just "seeing an E.T. doll". The scene refers back to the scene in E.T. where E. (we're on a first initial basis :-) blends in amongst the toys. Stripe blended in by hiding behind an E.T. doll! -- AT THE TONE PLEASE LEAVE YOUR NAME AND NET ADDRESS. THANK YOU. Rich Rosen pyuxn!rlr

Re Gremlin Background jokes: By all means don't forget the theater showing A BOY'S LIFE - Spielberg's working title for all his movies LOOK TO THE SKIES - Possible Title for ET 2 or CE3K 2? Does anyone know what this refers to? I'm sure there's something. Please, PLEASE just mail the answer to me, and I'll post the answer - in a (probably in vain) attempt to prevent a flood of responses. Carl ..!ctvax!uokvax!lmaher
