A person at pnet01!crash!cunyvm.cuny.edu!C70301DB%WUVMD.BITNET asks:
> Are demon dialers (like in "War Games") legal?
As to my knowledge, YES. I have heard many-a-pirate stories about
people getting caught using dialers. It would seem like something like that
would not be all that illegal, since all you are doing is trying to find other
computers. However, think about the hours you would be doing it, or what it's
like to receive a call where the person just hangs up as soon as you pick up
the phone... Kinda makes you mad, huh?

TelCo will try to push a harrassment(sp?) charge against you if you are persistant. At least in Wisconsin they do... You might like to try using random but I use the Monte Carlo Shuffle. Works great, just takes some time to compute the numbers ahead of time(not bad if you have a GS or ZipChip!) Talking about speed....what about AE's new Transwarp GS? They are calling for 7mhz! dtroup@carroll1.UUCP
