[comp.sys.apple] Two Monitors?

C70301RC@WUVMD.BITNET (Rob Caton) (01/13/89)

Is it possible to have a monochrome monitor and a color TV or RGB monitor
hooked up at the same time to a //c, or would it cause some kind of
overload? Just thought it would save me from changing cables all the time.
Thanx!

When my friends and I were taking classes on assembly language some time ago,
we had to use several monitors. The only problems we seemed to have were that
the picture dulled somewhat on the second monitor. Perhaps there was not enough
signal. I don't think it would cause any problems for your //c.

Greetings,

I can't tell you for sure about a //c, but I've had an Apple //e
monochrome monitor and an RF modulator hooked to a color TV set connected
to my //e for years and have never had any problems. I just used a
regular old RCA splitter adaptor into the monitor jack on the back of the
//e and plugged both cables in. I would imagine it drops the power on the
signal, but I've never noticed any difference. This is speaking just from
personal experience, I have no technical knowledge of whether this is "A
Good Thing" or not...
