Dennis,

Your problem with Z-Link lies not with the file, but because you seem
to have missed a step. There is a program that is called BLU and it
is available on the Apple2-L List (Listserv@Brownvm.bitnet). This
program will be the key to your problem. Most of the time, when a
file ends with a '.bny' or '.bqy', it is either squeezed or a binary
II file. BLU will allow you to extract or unsqueeze files of these
  2 types.

As for the problem with your kermit, try useing the original ProDOS
disk, it's worked for me, it should work for you. (The User's disk)

Alas, 'anyhost.ti.com' is NOT directly connected to the Internet so
LISTSERV@BROWNVM can't respond. BLU should be available by 'ftp'
(being on BITNET where we don't have 'ftp' I've lost track of the
instructions, but Paul Nakada <nakada@husc4.Harvard.edu> or Todd Bakal
<TABakal@ub.cc.UMich.Edu> should be able to help with directions).
