[comp.sys.apple] Instant Pascal on a RAM disk

wjgilbert@poppy.waterloo.edu (William J. Gilbert) (01/14/89)

Instant Pascal is the Apple // version of Macintosh Pascal.
On a standard Apple //c with 5.25" disk, it is very slow and
very disk intensive. It is also copy protected.

However, the Zip Chip makes Instant Pascal almost usable!
If I could run if from a RAM disk, it would be quite a good program.

I can break the copy protection (using Copy ][ Plus) and so put Instant
Pascal on my RAM disk. However I cannot get the program to start from the
RAM disk. It insists on the Startup disk being in the built-in drive.

Has anybody got Instant Pascal to run from a RAM disk?

In a related question. I cracked my copy of Instant Pascal too but
I would like to run it from my hard disk. It does indeed insist on
booting from the 5 1/4" floppy. Has anyone hacked it to boot from
another device?
