[I am posting this for Douglas Schuler, so please reply to Doug (douglas@atc.boeing.com) and not me (wtm@bunker.uucp) Bill McGarry, moderator of misc.handicap] A friend of mine has eyes that are extremely sensitive to light. For this reason, he is unable to use a computer comfortably. He is looking into word processing programs for his Apple IIE that he can use. He has located one that actually speaks back the words or letters that he types in and can also tell him what mode he has entered. He has identified a system called Word Talk, I think, which costs $350. It is designed to work with a voice synthesizer called Echo which costs $150. I'm wondering if anybody out there has any experience with this software or software like it. I'd like to hear about user's experiences and any advice on what to purchase. Please send e-mail as I'm always very delinquent about reading the news. Thanks a lot in advance for any pointers or advice. -- ** MY VIEWS MAY NOT BE IDENTICAL TO THOSE OF THE BOEING COMPANY ** Doug Schuler (206) 865-3226 douglas@atc.boeing.com
