I'm having a problem with Appleworks GS and the Imager[D

I'm having trouble printing files on an Imagewriter I while using the databas
e and word processing modules of Appleworks GS. It seems that the first line of
 every printout comes out scrunched.
I also noticed that in GS/OS, which is the corresponding operating system, a
driver titled "Imagewriter", instead of "Imagewriter.BW" is being used. Could t
his be the source of the problem?? Any help would be appreciated.

That's not all you seem to be having problems with :) As it is, I don't know
how well AWGS was tested with IW I's. Let me know what the problem is in a
little more detail & I'll look into t.

First of all, the problem is not with the driver. Do not use ImageWr.BW from
your older StyleWare discs with GS/OS. This is a driver Kevin Harvey modified
for speed at the expense of memory when we were at StyleWare. That driver
has some problems under GS/OS. Use the driver ImageWriter.CL, which is built
from the same source as ImageWriter, but with some bug-fixes & very minor
modifications.

The problem of text getting 'scrunched' sounds like a problem with the printer
itself... do you have this problem with any other module but DB? Do you have
an extra sheet of paper already fed through the printer? (somtimes if the
printer is right at the top of the first page, it jams a little & could cause
the symptom you describe.)
