[comp.sys.apple] Help in getting files from the binaries

dsf2652%ritcv@cs.rit.edu (01/27/89)

Hi there,

I don't want to sound like an idiot, but I have been having troubles
in getting files for the //e and then trying to EXEC them

I have taken files off of comp.binaries.apple2 and have downloaded
them onto my computer using KERMIT-65 and they arrive fine. I noticed
that BLU228.EXEC and EXECUTIONER.EXEC both need to be on ProDos, so I
used COPY ][+ V7.2 to transfer them to a ProDos disk.

Once I had these files on a ProDos disk, I booted up PRODos 1.1.1
Master Disk and then tried to EXEC them both, they both started off
fine giving me a screen full of *'s and then they both would just
stop for no apparent reason. The closest I have got was with BLU
which crashed with an error and left me with a BLU.BIN file, but I
have been told it is a SYS file.

When I get a file from comp.binaries.apple2, I remove everything
above and including the cut line and usually check the end of
the file to make sure there isn't some kind of trailer.

I have been using Apple //'s for over 7 years now, and am being
to feel more and more like an idiot for not being able to figure
this one out.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated....
