Hello folks! I might have missed the initial conversation, but I am quite confused by all of these attempts to put the disk catalog in a text file. In ProDOS this is **NO** challenge whatsoever, since it allows you to read a directory (even the root) just like a text file. In fact, the file follows the exact format of the catalog, including all blank lines and the "Blocks Free:" final line. Just use normal text-file-handling commands. If you still are using DOS 3.3 (which is no sin - many great people still do), then you'll need something more elaborate.
