Shall we all vote on facts again?

The NeverEnding Story was filmed in Germany, in English, and
translated for European audiences. There were no location
credits in the trailer.

There are two great ways to tell this: First, the extras,
the majority of the cast, and all the technical crew, are
German. The second way is to read those little blurbs in
the media about the making of the movie. Try "Starlog"
or wait a week and look in People or some such rag.

Well, since Munich also has a "space needle" (actually called the
Olympic Tower), it sounds to me like it most likely really was filmed
in Munich. Can you see any other unusual buildings around the needle?
Perhaps an odd skyscraper consisting of some large cylinders almost
hanging in mid-air (that's the BMW headquarters), or a set of oversized
tents made of glass and steel (those are the olympic stadiums)? Then
it's certainly Munich.

The CN Tower in Toronto is not at all the Seattle space
needle (I've been in both). The CN Tower is the tallest thing
in the world, honest, and it doesn't look like that. Also,
it wasn't Toronto. Toronto is flatter than the city they showed.
    I still vote for Seattle.
(Calgary has a space needle, I think, but I've never been
    there.)

Well, it seems quite possible that it is Muenchen (Munich), as I've
never been there -- but I am quite sure that the street signs were in
English. Did they go to all that trouble to disguise Munich as a North
American town?
It is true that no other city is mentioned in the credits.
