SNEAK PREVIEW REVIEW Title: Cloak and Dagger Studio: Universal Studios Screening: Westwood Mann Theatre Date: Saturday Aug 4, 1984 Prin. Actors: Henry Thomas, Dabney Coleman, Michael Murphy Abstract: The movie follows the episodes of a young boy who stumbles upon an international ring of agents stealing U.S. government secrets. The secrets are innocently stored in a video game cartridges. The video game cartridge in this film....you guessed it: Cloak and Dagger...is its name. The plot of the film centers around a chase and hunt-down of the central character who obtained the Cloak and Dagger cartridge from a dying TI (Textronix Instruments) technician. Evaluation: This film is above average - but certainly not Spielberg quality....nontheless the movie was relatively entertaining - but a bit slow in picking up on the action. I found the movie enjoyable. Some others were less enthrawled with it. The two kids who play central roles in this film did a good job. They should do well in subsequent roles. The film also had its humorous spots. Disposition: I expect the film will be released. Watch for it in your nearby theatres. Watch for my review of the sneak preview of RED DAWN next week.
