The CONNECT command is used to connect Kermit to the modem.  Once you have
entered CONNECT, you can enter your familiar Hayes modem commands directly
from the keyboard (in a similar manner to your C-64 Kermit).

The MODEM command builds a menu from modem commands in the file you mentioned.
I have mixed feelings about the modem command.

The modem commands that I select work part of the time.  For instance if I
select ATDP2941200, the modem dials and the connection is made.  Sometimes I
am placed correctly in the CONNECT mode after the modem connects, other times
I have to Quit the modem command and type CONNECT once the modem connects.

I'm not sure if it is Kermit's problem or the telecommunications system I am
reaching.  Perhaps you are experiencing the same problem.
