Seems my previous message got a bit garbled. I was reply to a message that stated ProSel could delete files with the Sort option, in particular files that are trashed so bad as to be undeleteable otherwise. To whoever asked the question originally, DO NOT DO THIS! The person who explained this little known feature of ProSel (not David Lyons, it was someone else) did not read the documentation completely, and following his advise may trash your subdirectory and/or main directory PERMANENTLY (or at least till you reformat it). The correct proceedure is as follows: Enter ProSels Cat Doctor and select the Sort option. Now, enter the pathname of the directory your trashed file is in. Now move the highlight bar to select you trashed file. Now hold the open apple key down and use the arrow keys to move your trashed file TO THE END OF THE DIRECTORY LISTING. Press [RETURN] and let the program sort your directory. Now, use the sort procedure again on the same directory, setting the highlight bar on the trashed file, which should be at the end of the directory listing. Press open apple D to delete the file and you can take it from there. NEVER NEVER NEVER try using open apple D on a file that is not at the end of the directory listing. This is a no no and you deserve what you get if you do this! This feature and appropriate warnings are completely documented in the ProSel Docs. Nuff said!
