[comp.sys.apple] ProDos and Saturn 128k

gord@geac.UUCP (Gord Armstrong) (02/03/89)

This question concerns an Apple //+ with the Saturn 128k ram card in slot 5.

Is there a ProDos /RAM disk or any ProDos ramdisk patch for the 128K Saturn ?
Does anyone know if Saturn Systems still supports this card? If so, has
anyone tried to order an upgrade ?

Any help appreciated !

On a //e, the Saturn 128K board could be used with ProDOS (at least AppleWorks)
by using Plus Works II from Norwich Data Services. Their literature indicates
that it would also work on a II+. As of 1986, Norwich Data Services was located
at PO Box 356, East Norwich NY 11732-0356, telephone 516-922-9584 and
201-679-0594. The 1986 version of Plus Works II is not compatible with
ProDOS v1.4, but does work with earlier versions.

I asked exactly the same question months ago, I think 3 people answered,
the general reply was 'don't know'.

I saw an advert in call A.P.P.L.E., it was for a Saturn Prodos ramdisk
driver, that combines up to 5 Ram boards 64k to 1meg, in any slot of your ][+
or //e into one prodos volume.

I have purchased the software and am happy with it, it enables me
to update my system from DOS3.3 to Prodos and still use the 128k
cards still as a pseudo disc.

It cost $15, anyone interested in the address etc. should e-mail me.
