I'm back... I have the opportunity to do the bookkeeping for my father-in-law's bricklaying business. His former bookkeeper retired after 15 years. We would like to automate the bookkeeping system. Now for the questions: 1) What is a good bookkeeping program for the //c? We would like one that keeps track of everything--A/P, A/R, payroll, statements, etc. 2) Is there a good forms design program for the //c and an Imagewriter //? We would like to design and print invoices, estimate forms, etc. If someone can give me some ideas, reviews, prices, etc. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanx!!! --------------------------------------------------------------------- | Rob Caton |BITNET: C70301RC@WUVMD | |--------------------------|APPLELINKPE: RobCaton <==(How original)| | Washington University |COMPU$ERVE: 71450,754 | |==================================================================== | "ACK THIPPFFT" _ /| | UPDATE: Donald | | --Bill 'O.O | Trump's brain | | the =(___)= | has been im- | | Cat U | planted in Bill! | -----------------------------------------------

It lists for $295, however, you can get it from Programs Plus (and probably others) for $195. It is THE data base program for the // line of computers. You must have //c, enhanced //e, or a IIgs. In addition, you have to have any combination of two 5.25 or 3.5 drives. If you wish to use the relational feature you really need a hard disk or you will be swapping disks like crazy. I talked to Barny Stone a few days ago about his program. He recommends getting a cache board from Ohio Cache for something in the neighborhood of $500. Later, it there will be a piggy back card that will support SCSI. Barny's idea is to use the cache board in lieu of a hard disk. I'm not convinced, however, I havn't seen it at work. Take a look at the current (March) inCider for a review of DB Master. -- Joe Walters att!ihlpf!bird IHP 1F-240 (312) 416-5356
