This is the second (and most probably, last) compilation of messages on GEnie A2 roundtable concerning ShrinkIt. Final decision is that it is allowed as a download on the regular file section as well as the developement file section. If we did, a lot of users, especially new users and users who do not read the bulletin boards, and the ones who never bother to read the long descriptions of files, will begin using it. This will leave the library staff the problem of constantly deleting new uploads, wasting everyone's time and money. The files are available in the A2Pro library, because generally only informed, advanced users like yourself, SSCHNEIDER, venture into that area. ShrinkIt is an excellent program, and we also expect great things from BLU II. Until one or the other (or, unlikely but possible, both) becomes a standard we can all settle on, we can't just make it available where users who may get confused might download and use it on GEnie. I apologize if this seems uncalled for, and we fully realize that users like yourself and others know what you're doing and don't need to be coddled. This way, we'll have it in A2Pro and everyone can be happy. Therefore, I've uploaded the latest version of ShrinkIt, with documentation, to the library. #6622 in library 39 is version 0.95, with documentation. Please DO NOT use this packer for files you upload here. You can use it for your own purposes or other systems which accept it.
