Is there anyway to read a file at remote site without transferring it
when you have ftp'd to a site? Thanks. C. Schlichting (Schlichting@NUSC.arpa)

Yes I didn't think that anyone outside of bitnet could get files from
listserv except for a few odd cases that I have found to work like Grant
Delaney. That is just one of listserv's problems - it handles mail
perfectly but files are something else. I guess it wasn't designed to
deal with files to go outside the bitnet world. Until it does I guess you
will have to be on the list and receive it that way.
Incidentally there are several people who's machines were not
connected for several days and mail got sent back to me saying that it
could not be delivered. I had to purge them and had to remove two
people from the list because of this. So if you are not getting mail then
you know why. (I got two back from Ted Medin but the rest seemed to go thru
fine, so I left him on the list.) I must do this otherwise the postmaster
will start to get very angry and not only that, I get tons of mail back that
I must spend time figuring out.

I recently got this in my mail:

>I am looking for an Apple port of the IBM/compat. program NET.EXE, which
allows

Can anyone point David in the right direction?
Please reply directly to David or the net, not me.
