Now that I have Kermit 3.85 up and running, I have a problem. I have an old ALS SmartTerm installed, which support both the BASIC and UCSD P-System I/O protocols. In its command mode, Kermit seems to read characters from the card using the BASIC protocol, and then implements its own line editor; in its CONNECT mode, kermit seems to read the keyboard directly. The problem is that the firmware on the card reads the cursor location stored in Zero Page to position its cursor. Kermit does not seem to update these locations, so when I press the backspace character to correct a typo, there is no visual feedback (the cursor doesn't even move). Worse, the firmware on the card only presents a cursor when the input routine is called, so I do not see any cursor at all in CONNECT mode. Does anyone know how to patch Kermit so that I can install the SmartTerm and use is Pascal entry points? These seem to work well, as ASCII Express uses them (even with SSC interrupts enabled), and so does my own rudimentary comm program.
