As I've noted before, but it makes sense to repeat in this context, my only major problem with the PC Transporter is in the polling area -- when using the New Finder (again, the old one doesn't do this -- it has the check drives menu for you to tell it that you've switched disks) all the drives do get polled periodically as people have noted; the problem with the PC Transporter is that for some reason polling its drive (which looks like something in slot six) takes an honest to goodness second or two in actual time. I don't hear any mechanical motion in the drive, so I don't what its doing, but the upshot is that on the average if you have its slot enabled it takes the finder a second or two to respond to any mouse clicks. I have no idea whether the problem is in the way the finder handles funny drives or with the driver that is installed for the PCT as a patch applied to the ProDos boot code. (yes, the driver is installed then and not, say, from the drivers directory; presumably this is so that you can use the PCT under old ProDos (P8) as well as P16 or GS/OS.)
