[comp.sys.apple] Fourier transforms & sound sampling

dseah@wpi.wpi.edu (David I Seah) (03/09/89)

While browsing through an archived conference on DiversiTune, fourier
transforms were mentioned. Bill Basham said that he would take a sound
sample, run it through a inverse fourier transform then run the result of that
back through another fourier transform to get the sample "in phase". What
does this mean?

What kind of sources are people using for good clean, digitized sound effects?
I am seeking a good, heavy machine gun sound, explosions, and so forth.

Heard on AppleLink tonight: A+ was purchased by InCider!
