[comp.sys.apple] Rocket chip and memory

Re: The Rocket Chip;
I can't speak for the Apple card, not having one, but I've been using a
Rocket Chip in my //c for a couple of months now with no problems at all.
I use my ZRAM ULTRA as a 1 meg /RAM card which it accesses at an amazing
speed. I was expecting a slightly faster version of the Zip Chip but this
seems to be an entirely different product. The difference is most notable in
PUBLISH-IT! which runs much faster under the Rocket Chip than the Zip Chip.
Whenever you make a change to the document there is a delay as PUBLISH-IT!
recalculates and redraws the screen. With the Zip Chip the delay is much
shorter. However, when using the Rocket Chip there is no delay at all!
You click the mouse and the screen redraws.
The two even look different. The Zip chip looks like a larger version of the
65c02. The Rocket Chip seems to be a scaled down collection of components in
a very small "card".

P.S. My apologies for the vagueness of my statements. I've never
had the time to sit down and do a serious comparison of the two. I just
use them and know what I like.
