I have a GS and I am proud of it. I love it very much. Yes, there are days that I wish I had more speed etc. but overall I am perfectly happy with my GS. I knew when I bought my computer that I wasn't getting a real powerhouse, I accepted that. If people wanted a really powerful computer, they probably should have gotten a Mac Se/30 or a mac II. I am going to get the Transwarp GS AND the Floating Point Engine (if they will work together) and that will make the GS much quicker than it currently is. In fact, with those two add ons, I think that my GS will be fast enough to compete with most computers on the market. Especially since most of the ------------- The biggest complaint most GS owners have is that with desktop-based applications, the GS is just too slow manipulating the graphic images. It is wonderful that there are companies like AE and the makers of the FPE who have shown that the GS can become a practical FAST system. Apple needs to realize that if it wants the GS to become a graphics-based system like the Mac, it MUST increase the speed of the computer. An easy way Apple could do this right away would be to put a Transwarp GS in every GS sold. The price of the GS is already too high, so they shouldn't increase it's price too much with this addition. Instead, I suspect that Apple will not come out with much more improvements for the //GS than new system software and putting the Tools into ROM which won't improve the speed of the GS very much.
