Maybe some of the die-hard Applesoft programmers out there might be interested
in MicroDot, a compact replacement for Apple's BASIC.SYSTEM which I wrote. 
Among its other features, it can easily launch a SYS program of any length
(well, as long as it'll fit into the Apple's memory).  :)

For those who use AppleSoft (Prodos8) not under GS/OS you  should
be  able  to just use the standard BYE command from which you can
run ShrinkIt.  And if you happen to use BYE80 or  Squirt  running
system programs is even easier.
