[comp.sys.apple] Apple //E memory space

kgb8752@ultb.UUCP (K.G. Brayton) (03/19/89)

I have an Apple //E with 128K. I am currently trying to run a set of
programs that use different variables but are connected together. But
occasionally I get a PROGRAM TOO LARGE error when I try to run one
program from another. I have done CLEAR and just about everything I
can think of to trash the space allocated for the variables, but when
I do a FRE(0), it still tells me that I have very little memory left.
I know the programs don't take up 64K. So, can anyone out there tell
me of a way kill the variable spaces (like DIMed arrays, etc) and not
just reset them? Also, on another topic, is there any way to clear
the file buffers when they all get filled in ProDOS? Thanx much.
