(this message is quite about a couple weeks behind the discussion; I was out of town last week, and now my netlink software has gotten grumpy on me, so I'm a bit behind on things... ::sigh::) Anyway, I just wanted to clarify one point: I have nothing at ALL against ShareWare! In fact, I think many of the best programs out -- especially now on the GS -- ARE ShareWare: many desk accessories are outstanding (I get real upset if I can't access Nifty-List when I need it <at least daily> ... really!), and then there are utilities, games, etc etc, that are often better than commercial applications. All I said in my message was that there ARE interactions between programs that CAN cause system crashes and other problems, and QUITE OFTEN what causes those problems ARE ShareWare files, simply because there are fairly few commercial setup files/DA's, whereas there are TONS of ShareWare/PD inits and DA's. I still like many of 'em, and the ones I use most get my money <as soon as =I= get my money, which is rare... :( >. Everyone alright on this? :) Joseph F.
