[ Simon, let's communicate. Call me at (216) 555 - 2000 ] One of the major reasons the '555' exchange is used is that all '555' numbers lead to the information lines. In Buffalo there used to be a couple of exchanges which all gave the same line (Weather information was 643-xxxx, Time of Day had its own). This was all before NYNEX (for- merly New York Telephone) decided to make up a lot of 1-976-xxxx numbers which provided these services (YUK!). By the way, Charles Schultz once used a real phone number in one of his Sunday "Peanuts" strips, and some poor soul wound up with a large number of children calling and asking to speak with Charlie Brown! (The guy's daughter got even...She said she was Lucy and most people hung up!) PS From what movie is the bug line? Send mail...I love mail... "You don't have time for mail!!" On second thought, Don't send too much mail...... -- -The Parker Hobbit UUCP: {allegra, seismo}!rochester!rocksvax!sunybcs!hobbit or try decvax!sunybcs!hobbit "When your song is over and the words have all been sung We'll hold on to the meaning.
