Of course, cigarette commercials on TV are banned here in the U.S. as well, though it IS possible to advertise cigars or chewing tobacco. However, these commercials are EXCEPTIONALLY rare, in contrast to the old cigarette advertising which positively dominated TV advertising before the ban quite a few years ago. By the way, I really do like some of the newer British Airways commercials (though they are a bit ostentatious). My favorite is the one with the seats being lowered into the plane by cables, where the top of the plane opens at the end to let a bird out... --Lauren--
