From: TJacobs <TJacobs.es@XEROX.ARPA> I saw Oxford Blues over the weekend with the Philadelphia Experiment as a co-feature. Philadelphia Experiment was a better movie. Oxford Blues ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The plot was the simple a) Boy lusts for girl, b) Boy gets girl, c) Boy loses girl type plot with some very shallow characters. You could never really feel that the character was real or ever alive. You just don't have any connection with him. The movie has some short promising moments, but on the whole it was very disapointing. Not worth $5, but OK for a double-feature. Philadelphia Experiment ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I admit up front that I like time-travel movies [ie. "Somewhere in Time" etc.], but I've heard other people with with similar reactions to mine so here's what I thought. The characters were interesting, though not real strong, and the plot was good. Basically, two sailers go forward in time to 1984 from 1943 and the usual problems of how, why, where, when and what happened are answered in a very interesting story. The special effects are nothing to write George Lucas about, but they added to the excitement. I watched this one straight though after checking my watch several times in "Oxford Blues". A good get-away movie.
