[comp.sys.apple] Multitasking, Mad Apple Forth, Anway's Forth for IIGS

Heiko responds with notes about Minix and Smalltalk-PC. Right on!

However, I should remind all you people out there - Forth has been running
on nearly every home computer around for YEARS with multitasking,
including Commodore-64, Apple II+, IBM PC, PDP-11s, and so on.

We once had Mad Apple Forth on the Apple II+ running 4 tasks simultaneously,
using 6502 code.

BY THE WAY - before people deluge me with requests for multitasking on MAF -
I'm holding out for 65802 code and a 65802 Forth, but I may not be able
to resist! (Multitasking is a favorite topic of mine).

If I DO come out with Multitasking for Mad Apple Forth, it might just be
in 65802 code (while MAF is in 6502 code). You HAVE been warned!

Is anyone interested in a GS Forth from Alan Anway of Superior, Wisconsin?
He put it STRICTLY into the public domain with ZERO support. It seems
rather nice, but it is only proper for IIgs'es, though it works (sort of)
on IIc/e with 65802s in them. This Forth is an operating system unto itself
in the Forth tradition, so forget Prodos and DOS 3.3 - but that's not all
bad.
