Applied Engineering is running an ad saying they have a new hard drive in development, called the Vulcan series. They say they don't believe in vaporware so they don't give any details, although the subtle (no, not subtle) impression is that it will be something pretty special. Anybody know anything more (of some credibility)? I also noticed somebody else saying their drive DOES have read only protection -- anyone know if that is truly in hardware or in-drive microcode or is it just something in the driver? (the impression was you could make individual partitions read-only if you wanted to.) TMPLee@dockmaster.ncsc.mil
