I too was in the same situation as the original poster on the subject of hard disks for the //c. Last November I bought a Chinook 20c which has been running ever since 24hrs/day without a hitch. At $750 for a 20 Mb drive the price is high but when you look at a 20Mb drive for a Mac and add on the cost of the SCSI-> SmartPort interface, it's really not that high. What I need now is a higher capacity drive that supports partitioning. About two years ago I got pamphlets from a company called CMC Systems which has a SCSI interface for the //c. It was about the same size as a Hayes external modem and supported up to seven devices including other Apple II's _and_ Macs. Thus a large hard drive was sharable between two machines. Unfortunately at the time I was a starving college student and couldn't afford the thing and last time I tried to call them all I got was a confused "Hello?" Has anyone ever head of this thing? Better yet, have one? - Doug ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- djhill @ rodan.acs.syr.edu or RSDJH@SUVM
