While I'm glad that Apple has decided to have a September Applefest, I really don't buy Keith's argument that Apple *just* didn't print their calendar far enough into the future. To wit: In the January, 1989 issue of Apple Direct, Apple lists some 29 events that they had already decided to exhibit at as of whatever date in December, 1988 the issue was printed. At least 5 of them were already after the September date. So, let's tell the story the way it is. I believe Keith, Mark, and Matt when they tell us that they are fighting for the ][. Let me add Rick Ewing to that list. But, if Apple is not going to support us, then we have to make our own plans and hope Apple follows suit. If that means that I head to Kansas for the Weishaar's A2-Central conference, so be it. It is really is *your* loss, guys. I've spent untold hours and dollars on the Apple ][ family. If you give me the option to move to the Mac, I may go slowly, but surely. If you force me to leave, my next computer may not be an Apple. Let's hope that Apple doesn't drop support for the ][ line without warning. Someone has to pick up the slack. Coming in at the last moment and saying "Sure, we were going to hold a conference all the time" is not too reassuring. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Todd A.
