Does anybody out there have any details on the file format for scanned PICT (and/or GIFF) images from the Mac ? The PICT format seems to involve some form of run-length encoding .. ie not totally compressed .. though at my cursory glance the format is not immediately obvious. A friend has scanned in some piccys for me .. weve bounced the files down to MS-DOS disks (emphasis on the word down!) so that I could transfer them to different machines .. in particular the Atari 1040 .. Now Im interested in having the file formats so that I may customise my own code. However, if there is any source code which I could glean the relevent details from that would be *gratefully* appreciated ! .. thanks very much ..
