This is a file downloaded 25 Apr 89 from CompuServe's MAUG Apple II Forum. I don't know its original source, but it has the look of something that might have come from Cambridge Marketing, the folks who put on the AppleFest. Enjoy! -JTW ------------------------------------------------------------ Here's an up to date list of the vendors slated to have a booth at AppleFest/Boston, May 5-7 this year and some of the products they plan to feature. The number of vendors is down a little from the previous AppleFest. It's striking how much difference there is in the vendor lists. Only a little more than half of the vendors who will be at AppleFest Boston were at the San Francisco Show. One company conspicuous by its absence is Claris. But don't worry, they aren't slighting the Apple II community by Skipping AppleFest. Claris doesn't have a booth at MacWorld in Washington DC this month either. Aside from the usual rumors that the Apple II world is about to end, what explanations are there for the absence of some companies? There are probably more companies in California than in the East and it's easier for them to participate in a SanFrancisco show. Software sales have been slower than expected for the past few months. There are a lot of shows in a short period of time this spring. Besides AppleFest there are two Mac shows and Comdex within a span of a month. The absence of some companies may be no more than a sign of belt tightening.
