I came back from Applefest with Chessmaster 2100 (GS version), only to find that it won't run off GS/OS. I was very happy to find that I could install it on my hard disk, only to find that, when I tried launching it, I got a message about error number 6002--out of memory--with the suggestion that if I only had 512K I should remove my desk accessories. Since I have 1 1/4 megs and the control panel indicated about 800K free, I didn't think that would help and it didn't. It did work properly when I booted of a System 3.1 floppy, and also when I tried to run it from Prosel, but it crashed upon quitting. Anyone know of a fix? It seems strange that such a new program won't run under GS/OS. The program itself, once it's loaded, is a delight, although I'm not too thrilled with their copy protection scheme. When you boot up, you are asked a chess question which is easily found in the documentation. At least you can make backups, but I hate having to have the documentation available before I start playing. Alan H.
