Ok, I have a great delima facing me and I need some help with it. I have an old Apple II+ which has been very good to me. I am still amazed at the things it can do for the type and age of machine it is. It has, however, become necessary for me to upgrade to a new computer. I don't have the desire or money to go to a Mac so I am trying to decide between the IIc+ and the IIGS. I would like to get your opinion on these two computers. What are their advantages and disadvantages. I have spent the last few weeks pouring over all the information I could find on them and now I feel it is time for some personal input. I imagine there are several of you that are very satisfied with your machines. Tell me about what makes them nice. Just as important is what isn't so nice about them. Right at the moment I am leaning towards the GS, but money does play a role in this so I am still up in the air. Some things I would like specific info on is the software availability, the speed of the machines, the expandability, and ease of operation. If you would also tell me what configurations you have and about how much money you have in them, and what I should expect to pay for the basic computer, monitor, and drive. Also, with the GS, has anyone bought the MSDos card to run IBM compatible software? How does it do? Is it worth it? Thanks in advance for the help. I would prefer you send me email, but I read comp.sys.apple everyday so if it is easier to post a reply there, do so and I will get it. My email address is DCANFIELD@BYUVAX. Thanks again, Dan Canfield _____________________________________________________________________________ Mmmmmmm....
