[comp.sys.apple] Rogue III clone posting

labc-3dc@e260-3f.berkeley.edu (Andy McFadden) (05/20/89)

Was the recent posting of the //gs Rogue III Clone to comp.binaries.apple2
an upgrade or just a posting of the same one that came around a month or
two ago?

Part 4/5 of the apple compress that was recently posted
never made it. Also parts 2/3 and 3/3 of the sources
(if they exist) never made it. If anyone else didn't
receive them, could they be reposted?

It's either a) the same [repackaged] b) a completely different program of the
same name, or c) a new version hacked from the original binaries. I would
tend to believe (a). I think it's in response to a request from Paul Nakada(?)
a few days ago. As for a *real* new version, maybe one of these days I'll get
around to fixing some of the known bugs & making certain features work, but
it tends to conflict with my job :-), so don't hold your breath.

As the uploader, I can verify that it's just the same version FTPed
from husc6.harvard.edu, and was in response to Paul Nakada's (I think)
request for a reposting.
On the fixing bugs side, I haven't had a single problem with the program,
period. I have soundfiles specified for about everything, and have used
most if not all of the features. If you can get the configuration files
in the right place at the right time, everything works great. I have 1.25
Meg in my GS, which may be the minimum for insectless operation.
I tend to like it more than Moria, mainly because of it's speed advantage,
and that I usually don't have enough time to get into any major campaign.
I still have Ultima V to solve...
