Just got of the phone with a friend of mine in France. The piracy situation
in France (and from what I understand the rest of Europe as well) is very
active, for the sole reason that generally programs are almost impossible to
get, while a large majority aren't even imported/available. Add to this the
braindead decision of some governments (like Germany) to prohibit the sale of
all war related toys - this includes computer games like everybody's favorite,
'Rescue Raiders' and any 'shoot-em-up' game. Smart move, as the piracy
now becomes a necessity if you want any type of those 'banned' programs (isn't
it great to see censorship in action) [this is according to my information -
if you knwo otherwise jump in here]

Anyway, from what I was told people in France depend on Piracy to be able to
take a look at some of the programs out there (since they can't playtest
them over there) and then use the telephone to make a well-placed call to
Programs Plus (this is not an endorsement) to order it.

It seems to work over there (though I will be first to admit that not
everyone is probably as honest as my friend).
