[net.movies] The Stainless Steel Rat

black@unc.UUCP (Samuel Black) (09/08/84)

A group of us has been trying to figure out a good cast for
a movie version of The Stainless Steel Rat (by Harry Harrison).
We've cast James Garner in the title role, with possibly
Harrison Ford as Inskipp. The biggest problem we're having is
trying to find a gorgeous actress who is also talented to play
Angelica/Angela/Angel... Any suggestions?

Diana Rigg could do quite well in that role. Also Sigourney Weaver
perhaps.

How about Sigourney Weaver as Angelina?

moriarty@fluke.UUCP (Jeff Meyer) (09/11/84)

Absolutely, Sigourney Weaver would be perfect as Angelica (she has that
homicidal look she can put on, as in GHOSTBUSTERS). Garner's getting a
little old... howsabout Daniel Hughes-Kelley, (last name may be wrong), who
does a nice job with a bad script as McCormick on HARDCASTLE & MCCORMICK?
Yes, I know, a relative unknown (at least he's not my relative [insert
raspberry here]).

Jane Seymour gets my vote as Angelina. She's got Beauty, Brains,
and she can be pretty wicked when she wants to be. . .

scw@cepu.UUCP (09/27/84)

I vote for Fae Dunaway as Angelina. She also (as in Jane Seymore) has beauty,
brains, and can be quite evil (cf. \The {Three,Four} Musketeers/), in addition
she's a VERY good actress.
